CONFIGURATION
The first time you run Eudora, the Setup Options dialog box should
appear. If not, click Tools from the Menu Bar at the top of the Eudora Window
and select Options from the drop down list.
You will need to edit some of the configuration information in order to be able to send and receive e-mail. To Get Eudora started you only need to edit the pop account (Incoming) and real name fields on the getting started options.
POP
Account:
To use Eudora, you must have an account on a computer that runs
a POP3 server. This is the account where your e-mail is delivered before it
is transferred to your computer. In this field, type your login name, an @ sign,
and the domain name of the computer. For example refer to the options screenshot
above. If your assigned login name is mary and the name of the computer where
you receive e-mail is yourisp.com.au simply type mary@yourisp.com.au
in this field.
Real Name:
Enter your name as you want it to appear in the From header of your outgoing
e-mail messages. For example if your name is Mary Jones, it will appear like
"Mary Jones" mary@yourisp.com.au
Optional Configuration Settings:
These settings allow you to tell Eudora how to alert you of new mail,
how often you want it to check the server for new mail and more.
Return Address:
Normally, Eudora uses your POP account as your return address. If you
wish to use a return address other than your regular POP account, enter it here,
otherwise you can leave it blank.
Checking for New Mail:
Select Checking Mail from the Options dialog box. Tell Eudora how often
you want it to connect to the mail server and check for new mail by filling
in the field check for mail every 5 minutes.

Setting up Attachments folder
You can use Eudora to send and receive files as attachments to your
email. In the Options just scroll down the left hand side until you see Attachments.
This figure above will appear. It may look a little different depending on where you set up your Eudora (either on C: drive or D: drive) Click on the button (it will be blank on yours) and up should come something that looks like this:
Now, click on the Attach folder and it will open
up.
Then click the Use Directory button and this will
load this onto the big grey button as in the previous image ie. D:\EUDORA\Attach.
You now know where to get your attachments when someone sends you an attachment.
Sending Attachments
You can also send attachments using Eudora. When you wish to send an attachment
using Eudora go to the menu and the section that says Message and go to Attach
File. You will then be prompted to choose the file you wish to send. (You can
also do this by pressing the Ctrl button and the H key). You select the file
and it places it in the Attached section of your email. You then just press
send and the person you wish to send the file to will receive it.
CC:
CC means Carbon Copy. You can send the same email to a number of different people
at once. You type their email address in the CC section (separated by a " ,"
) and each person will get the same email. They will also be able to see in
their message who you also sent the email to. If you don't want others to know
who you sent email to you can use
Bcc:
Bcc means Blind Carbon Copy. This means you can send the same email to other
people and if you put their email addresses in this BCC section they won't know
you have sent it to anyone else.
Email gets bounced:
Sometimes you will get an email sent back to you with details that say the email
address was not correct. Almost 90% of the time you have typed in the wrong
email address of the person you want to send the email. Check that you have
the correct address before sending again
